Arkadaşlar UEFA, FIFA, AB Şike Komisyonu ve AB Spor Bakanları, Gazeteciler ve aklımıza gelen her yere aşağıda ki mail'i gönderiyoruz.
Dear Sir/Madam,
According to the article 58 (TFF Disciplinary Procedure), no matter what else happened, every match-fixer team would be dropped from the league. To change this, we (TFF) made preparations!!! We presented them to the UEFA. As for the UEFA, they said that no changes could be made before the investigations were complete. “Wait until the investigations are over and then make the changes” they said.
UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino indicated that there was sufficient evidence of match-fixing and encouragement in Turkey. After the UEFA Management Board meeting, Infantino stated at a press conference that the decision would be taken by the TFF, and that the board would examine the situation at a later date. Explaining that Article 58 was not the responsibility of the TFF, Infantino continued, “UEFA statutes and regulations governing match-fixing are clear. However, in this case, appropriate and proportional sanctions must be applied. The question is not whether or not Article 58 will be changed. The important thing is for the Football Federation to adopt the proper precautions and make the right decisions.”
In answer to a question, Infantino stated, "Match-fixing is something that affects the integrity of this game," and he continued his comments by saying, “There may also be initiative in venture. Our principles are very clear. These kinds of behaviors can’t be tolerated. Undoubtedly, there may be a difference between successful and unsuccessful match-fixing, but that cannot change the outcome. Yesterday, the UEFA Discipline Committee banned two referees for life because they failed to inform the UEFA that a match-fixing scheme had been proposed to them by criminal organizations.”
24 June 2012, an article by newspaper reporter Halil Özer;
“Şenez Erzik knew that FB would not be given a punishment. It is known that Platini and Infantino kept track of the developments very closely. However, using their right of choice, they also let the Discipline Committee know that their views were not to punish FB. If the UEFA congress had not been held in Istanbul, if Platini had not met with Prime Minister Erdoğan, I don’t know, but I wonder how this problem would have been resolved. In reality, what went on at the meeting between Prime Minister Erdoğan and Platini affected the UEFA from start to finish.”
10 September 2012, , an article by newspaper reporter Mehmet Arslan;
“Newspaper reporter Mehmet Arslan relating a conversation he had with a member of federation management. Without a doubt, a sentence uttered during the course of the match-fixing scandal which still sticks in one’s mind, belongs to Prime Minister Erdoğan: Differentiate people from organizations. Do not punish organizations for crimes because they are perpetrated by people associated with them. Before the Prime Minister made these statements, he met with managers of the Federation. Was the rigging reflected on the playing field or not? When the Prime Minister received the answer “No”, he used these words: organizations should never be punished for crimes perpetrated by people. During the match-fixing scandal, the federation used his words as their guideline. There is another side that must be considered, namely the UEFA. The Prime Minister, in a meeting with UEFA chairman Michel Platini, repeated the same statements. At a press conference immediately after that meeting was over, Platini stated, "The Prime Minister and I are of the same opinion, but there are rules." Platini said those words at the press conference but neglected to tell the press conference what statements he had made to the Prime Minister at the meeting. UEFA Chairman Platini’s exact words were: We are of the same mind. I can’t change the regulations. The only thing I can do for you is to relate my opinion, if need be, to the disciplinary committee.
The Federation manager said that the UEFA was not prepared to sacrifice Turkey, because we are a country that is strong in football. The Prime Minister is an important government official. Platini may be considered as a candidate for FIFA chairman. Platini can reach out to any president and prime minister he wishes. When Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was amending the 58th article, we explained this to the UEFA. “Turkish football is finished. There are no fans in the stadiums and sponsors are running away. If we don’t change this article, football will be finished in Turkey.” They listened to what we had to say and didn’t cause any difficulties. ”
